How do cells process/access energy? (cellular respiration/photosynthesis, consumer/producer/decomposer, heterotroph/autotroph)
Content Goals:
Students will be able to identify Similarities and differences between prokaryotes and eukaryotes.
Students will be able to identify the function of key organelles in the prokaryote and eukaryote cells.
Students will be able to identify the different environments cells experience.
Preferred environments for plant and animal cells will be known.
Students will understand that cells use chemical reactions to perform all functions.
Students will be able to identify the processes that cells use to transport materials in and out and around the cell.
STudents will be able to identify the steps of cellular respiration and the organisms that utilize this process to obtain energy.
Students will be able to identify the steps of photosynthesis and the organisms that utilize this process to obtain and store energy.
Students will understand the process of cell differentiation, its role in growth and development and how the process forms multicellular organisms.
Skill Goals:
Students will be able to match organelles with cell types.
