Goal Summary:
Students will use a synonym scale and category map to organize words by connotation and type, express the differences between fiction and non fiction texts, use graphic organizers to analyze a text, research and produce a video PSA, acquire more familiarity with grade level vocabulary, self-assess progress toward reading goals, and write a paragraph in response to a prompt about an article. Students will self-assess social/ emotional needs and status while making personal connections to the week's reading in a community building circle.
