Students will make predictions about the meaning of vocabulary in the story, take a quiz on the vocabulary, and write answers to prompts relating to the themes. Students will acquire more familiarity with grade level vocabulary, self-assess progress toward reading level goals, and raise lexile level at Readtheory, and master language skills including plural or possessive nouns, idioms, and verb tense as measured by quizzes at IXL.com. Students will self-assess social/ emotional states and make personal connections to the week's reading in a community building circle.
