Goal Summary:
Students will apply the vocabulary of the libretto of Barber of Seville to the music that they have been studying. They will learn the Italian words of the libetto, and how they are applied rhythmically to the notation.
This will give a deeper meaning and understanding of what they will be performing for the holiday concert in December.

How the libretto influences the characteristic of the main characters in the opera.
That Rossini wrote this opera mainly for comical purposes.
Content Goals:
To be able to perform the music with more understanding of the feeling and dynamics involved in the libretto.
Students will become more familiar with reading the musical phrases of the music.
Students will have a better understanding of the interpretation of the piece.
Skill Goals:
Performing segments of the melody in their sections(cooperative groups) will enhance their musical abilities.
To be able to perform with the proper phrasing.
