Goal Summary:

Students will have an understanding of the steps involved in obtaining gainful employment upon graduation from high school. They will be able to apply the knowledge they have gained to their own job search and acquisition.

Essential Questions:

Why do we have to do this? How will any of this help me get a job? Many students won't see any value in the unit. Many think that since they have a part-time job now, they know all there is to know about getting a job. By using the website, reading relevant literature, viewing video clips, hopefully they will get a better understanding of what it takes to get not just a job, but something that you will be happy and satisfied doing, that pays you well enough to live comfortably.

Students should understand the job search process and options.
Students should understand the application process.
Students should understand the interview process.

Content Goals:

Students will create an account on the Ohio Means Jobs website. They will save all of their work in their "Backpack" on the OMJ website. Students will complete at least one career interest inventory. Students will be able to accurately fill out a application. Students will be able to create a professional resume'. Students will be able to participate in an interview appropriately and answer interview questions in an acceptable manner.

Skill Goals:
