1: Students know content vocabulary: slope, intercept, standard form, slope-intercept form, direct variation, linear function, linear equation.
2: Students understand linear equations graph as a straight line, slope represents rate of change/ rise over run/ steepness of the line, intercepts are the points where linear equations intersect the x- and y-axis. Students understand the slope of a direct variation is known as constant of variation.
3: Students are able to state slope and intercepts of a linear equation. Are able to write the "rule", linear function, of a situation, solve situational problems involving linear functions by graphing and analyzing the graph.
4: Students are able to write the linear function of a situation and solve it algebraically. Students can justify analysis of situational problems.
