Topic:: Scheduled for week of 10/28-11/1. Since this is Halloween week, this scary story will set the mood for the holiday. Jehovah's witness students will be given a story on Tumblebooks for an alternative lesson since they can't celebrate holidays.
Objective:: I can support my opinion in writing by telling the reasons for my thinking. ELA.4.W.1
Other Information:: I have another purpose for this activity. My viewing the students' writing ability, I can also discern their reading ability (to some extent). Now that we can no longer get a reading level from STAR, I am in the dark about their abilities and I don't know if they are choosing appropriate library books.
