Goal Summary:

By the end of this unit, students will be able to produce a one page speech talking about themselves. They will be able to present basic information about themselves such as age, their school and how they go to school. Students will use appropriate language to present their family such as what their parents' jobs are and will be able to speak about their hobbies and what they want to do in the future. Integrated into this unit is cultural information based on Britain.

Content Goals:

Students will learn to use basic tenses and how to express the same ideas in different ways, for example, "In the future I want to be a/an... I want to be a/an_____ in the future". They will increase their vocabulary and learn how to say main words in different ways. They will have an increased understanding about Britain and British culture.

Skill Goals:

To help students focus on fluency when speaking through mimicking.
To develop students’ communication skills by doing group or pair work.
To develop students’ listening skills through the use of multimedia such as videos or audio.

Other Information:

Teaching materials and methods: I will use a mixture of multimedia, PPT, and textbooks to deliver my lessons. Methods include activity based learning (group work), board work (chalk board and ppt), presentation and production style (I present the topic and they produce their own dialogue based on presented target language).
