Goal Summary:
Students will create a portfolio of poems (rhyming, haiku, found poem, research poem, Bio poem, Cinquain, free verse). Students will be able to use a rhyming dictionary to assist in writing rhyming poems. Students will be able to identify parts of a poem and answer questions about poems.
Students will compare and contrast ideas in a poem and make conniptions to their own personal experiences and points of view.
Students will identify main idea, author's purpose, mood and theme of poem.
