What Are Cookies? Reflection:
Students will be informally assessed while teacher observes students creating chants/ostinatos together and formally assessed when groups present to the entire class. Students will be assessed using a rubric (Advanced, Proficient, Approaching, Below) on the following:
- Creating effective ostinatos that compliment the poem
- Conveying the mood of the poem
- Performing the song at an appropriate pace/at appropriate volume, so that the audience understands performers.
Prep:
Bookmark websites with choirs demonstrating ostinatos (many available on You Tube).
