Writing a Memo

Subject:
Language Arts
Topic:
Writing a Memo
Objective:
The students will learn functional writing. In this case, the students will learn the purpose of a memorandum and how to write one.
Reflection:
I am not sure what it is, but for some reason, I felt more like myself during this lesson. By this, I mean more of my personality started to show. Prior to this, all of my lessons were just me delivering instruction with a straight face and being nervous. Yet, somehow, I had this sudden urge to allow some of my personality to show and during this lesson, there were a ton of laughs. I am not too sure if this is a good thing. After all, school is about learning, not comedy. But who says learning can't be fun? I think I need to see what happens and find the right balance between fun and learning - so that the students can have the best of both worlds without sacrificing any of their potential. The pacing issues remained as I ran out of time before I could wrap it up.
