Elizabeth Blackwell

Subject:
Social Studies
Topic:
Women of History - Elizabeth
Objective:
The students will learn about Elizabeth Blackwell. They will learn about the important women of history. They will read aloud, recollect, and work independently.
Reflection:
Today, I realized I still have pacing issues, but as I was told by my cooperating teacher a few days ago, I will get the hang of it eventually. I was not too familiar with Blackwell. I informed the students of this and together, as a class, we learned about this woman. I enjoyed the fact that while I was leading the instruction, I was also learning. The students seemed to struggle when it came to the complex question of #7 and #8 on the attached worksheet packet. I think for future reference, I should come up with my own short answer questions. I think the issue with those questions was the wording of it. They seemed to need a lot of rephrasing or metaphors when I had to explain it. This is something I need to think about going forward.
