Students should begin to think about how these representations and stereotypes affect their thoughts on various people and animals.

of information, and ideas in the media

Stereotypes Content Rationale: Students will recognize that stereotypes are constructed by society. Students will become aware that the narrow stereotypes depicted in media are constructed and represent a small slice of the spectrum of human personality and behavior.
Stereotypical depictions in the media are designed to homogenize culture and to set up an endless cycle of dissatisfaction and consumption.
