Prep:

The previous day, students will review the literary elements to begin thinking about the activity. They will be given the template of the introduction formula, so they can jump right into the activity when they enter the classroom. This should be skill review from last year's English classes, so we should be just tapping into prior knowledge.

Template for the critical lens introduction paragraph, critical lens quotations, markers, poster board, literary element handout with terms and definitions for review, a planning page chart for literary element brainstorming
