Objective:
Students will know how to identify rocks and minerals based on physical characteristics that are naturally found in different samples. Students will also review the use of the scientific method to investigate rock and mineral samples in a testing scenario.
Reflection:
a. Did I have enough time built in to transition from the investigation to the question and answer session?
b. Did students appear to understand the data collection process?
c. Were students able to log on easily to "Today's Meet"?
d. Did I make sure to question my low expectancy students?
Prep:
Set stations up the night before to be ready for 1st period the next day.
Materials:
data sheets, pennies, magnifiers, nail, small tile pieces, station numbers and at least 4 different rock/mineral samples.
