In this pathway, your child will be introduced to the world of the American Indian. Because Native America is very diverse, your child will first learn some basic information about Indians, including where different tribes live. He or she will then learn more in-depth information about some specific tribal groups--Sioux, --covering four distinct regions of the country.
Objective:
To introduce children to America's native people.The child will learn that different tribes lived and still live in distinct areas of the country.The unique lifestyles arising from the different landscapes will be introduced.The child will learn about four distinct groups, focusing on their housing, food, and daily life.The child will make several Indian crafts and some traditional Indian recipes

4 straight twigs (about a foot long each)
Yarn, twine, or a rubber band
A large, brown paper grocery bag
Scissors
A pencil
Crayons, tempera paint, or markers

2 cups frozen or canned corn, drained
2 cups frozen lima beans
1/4 cup water
