Chapter 16 - The Story of Buddhism
Objective:
Students will learn about Buddha through legends that are told about Buddha's life. The purpose of Buddhism is the Four Noble Truths and the premise that all things change. Buddha taught the eightfold path.
Reflection:
Student will focus on subsequent lessons on five scenes from Buddha's life. 1) He was born into royalty. 2) He was married to a princess and had a son 3) He left all everything material in his when he saw an old man as he passing by in his chariot, a leper and a corpse being carried out. These scenes represented three things that impacted Prince Siddhartha - old age, sickness, and death. Finally, he became Buddha and found Enlightenment under a Bodhi Tree.
