* Wk 16 - Science - Learning about Plants: Photosynthesis

Grade Level:
1
Subject:
Science
Topic:
Has your child ever wondered why the leaves change colors in the fall? In this unit your child will learn about photosynthesis and how plants make their own food with sunlight. After children learn about the concept of photosynthesis, they can understand that the leaves change colors in the fall when there is not enough sunlight for photosynthesis to occur. They will also see first hand how plants need light and water to survive by experimenting with plant clippings. By building their own terrarium, children will get a first hand look at how plants create their own food.
