Objective:
After completing this lesson, students will be able to compare the differences and similarities between the moon and planet earth. By completing the activities, students will also be able to compare the different settings in the book, Moonshot: The Flight of Apollo 11, to understand the major events in the Apollo 11 mission.
Prep:
Create class choice board with listed options for academic choices. Gather necessary materials for students to use: chart paper, construction paper, copy paper, journal paper, clay, pipe cleaners, foam balls, scissors, glue, markers, crayons, colored pencils, index cards, rulers, blocks, mission cut outs and tape. Create guiding question index cards for each cooperative group.
