What Are Cookies? The objective of this lesson is to understand the importance of the different styles of literacies within the textbook to decipher what is important information in regard to the topic at hand. These can be measure by the students understanding of the lesson context by using the skills learned as well as designed before, during and after reading activities and demonstrated in an assessment at the end of the lesson plan. By the end of this lesson the students should:
• Be able to recognize vocabulary words in the text in terms of importance and relevance to the subject in focus
• Activate prior knowledge that attributes to continuing education on the subject.
• Be able to categorize the vocabulary words with accuracy in terms of understanding and functionality in the cell replication types
• Be able to focus on aspects of the text that are not as bolded or highlighted but still important for overall comprehension.
• Understand the location of additional information within the text as necessary that includes but is not limited to graphs, charts, inclusions, and footnotes
• Use tools that can help with locating texts in the which include online textbook tools and finders keys.
• Able to determine the process of the cell and understand the inclusion of texts that help with better understanding
• Be able to score a passing grade on the comprehension test at the end of the chapter and use it as a study guide for the test on the full unit
