Objective:
Students will identify their own culture’s customs and those of others.

Students will create a presentation which appreciates the differences cultures and traditions have to offer.
Prep:
Utilize Technology, Media, and Materials

Prepare the Materials.
Classroom computers will be checked by the technology coordinator and classroom teacher to ensure they are working appropriately. The classroom teacher will also gather all art and craft supplies that they believe could be used for each presentation. These supplies might include construction paper, markers, paint, crayons, tape, poster board, etc.

Prepare the Environment
Desks will be arranged so that students can face each other during the group discussion. Desks should also be in a position so that they can be moved into small group pods for when students break out into their small groups to complete their presentations.

Prepare the Learners.
Students will prepare for the lesson during the initial group discussion.
Materials:

Strategies.
This lesson is designed to include teacher-centered and student-centered strategies in order to complete the lesson. Students will receive interactive instruction (auditory), project-based learning (visual), and active learning (kinesthetic).

Technology and Materials.
Students will have access to computers, printers, headphones, the internet, and craft supplies including paper, markers, tape, pens, crayons, and colored pencils

Media.
Students will use visuals such as drawings, posters, powerpoints, concept maps, etc. in order to create their presentation. Students have freedom as to how they would like to present what they have learned about the culture they researched.
