Indicators of understanding:
1. Students were able to use the sculpture as inspiration and create an original story surrounding it
2. Double Self Portrait: Student presented ideas and discussed with teacher the idea they wanted to develop. The image shows the student went beyond just a representational image and that it tells a story.

Reflect:
I really pushed the kids hard on this one, some classes had a much easier time to come up with ideas, using materials and their time management. Will do this lesson again, even though the time was tight and most of the students did not do a lot of of really heavy duty work on this, they did really think about what they wanted to say about themselves. Which ultimately was my goal. Next time should spend less time on the initial observation drawing and have them do a couple of more quick writes with work that is very interpretative.
Prep:
Black ghost photo, self portrait slide show, vocabulary review of elements and principles of art.
