In English I, students will develop a basic understanding of literary texts from American, British, and World Literature and will integrate the concepts and skills from these studies into reading, writing, speaking, and listening. In addition, they will gain critical thinking and communication skills, which will help them in real-life decision-making and interaction. With this in mind, students will acquire greater knowledge and appreciation not only for the English language but also for Language in general.
