Students will understand principles of multiplication given the terminology and symbols of multiplication
Students will display their understanding of multiplication when given a multiplication expression they will use pictures to represent the expression
Students will display their understanding of multiplication arrays when given a multiplication expression they will use foam fruit/vegetable cut out pieces to represent their expression in an array

Other Information:

Meeting the needs of the students described in the scenario I will plan for whole class discussion, allow for extra time to complete activities, give examples and explain my thought process. I will use visual representation on the white board, labeling parts of the expressions and equations with vocabulary words. Grouping the students together to promote the use of the English language and terminology. I will Walk around the room and offer assistance to students in need during the class activity and small group activity.
