Applications of Radian Measure

Grade Level:
11
Subject:
Trigonometry
Topic:
3.2 Applications of Radian Measure
Objective:
The students should be able to find the Arc Length and Area of a Sector for circles and be able to apply this concept to solve real problems.
Reflection:
Students did well using the formula in finding Arc length and its understanding. Application problems involving Latitude and Longitude, that required finding distances between cities was an area that needed more explanation particularly the positions of the cities in reference of its latitude or longitude. Application problems in this lesson are good examples of the uses of Arc Length and Area and I would use again. Rounding needs to be consistent to information given. Students get lost in work and sometimes forget units and accuracy.
Prep:
Use the definition of Radian Measure and solve for s (Arc Length incepted by the central angle)
