Objective:
Students will be able to list at least three effects that westward expansion had on the native Americans living in the region post- civil war.

Students will be able to articulate the long lasting effect that government policies have had on native Americans and their descendants.
Reflection:
The circle of knowledge requires a high levels of participation and encourages a collaborative environment. Students have preparation time to gather their evidence, therefore the statements have a high degree of focus. My goal is to have high level of thinking in student responses that go beyond the dates and names of westward expansion, but rather connect to their backgrounds and present day life.
