Objective:
Upon completion of this exercise you will be able to determine the setting of a refrigerant-type low pressure control and reset it for low charge protection.
Other Information:
LAB 14-2 is to be done by students for this activity.
Public Notes:
Students will be working with pressurized containers safety glasses must be worn and care must be taken when work is being done.
Cut-in pressure closes the electrical contacts starting the compressor.
Cut-out opens the electrical contacts stopping the compressor.
Differential is the cut-in pressure minus the cut-out pressure.
Pressure sensing devices are used to aid in the correct operation of refrigeration systems and also for safety of specific components.
Prep:
Students have read text reference 14.9 and 14.11 in the RACT text book.
Materials:
adjustable low pressure control,screwdriver, 1/4" flare union,safety glasses, ohmmeter,gauge manifold and dry nitrogen.
