What Are Cookies? Reflection:
- This week, students are working with their partners to gradually complete their flashcard project, which was introduced to them in the previous week. The students are currently studying different literary devices that they will see throughout the school year. In order to make sure they have a good understanding of these devices, the students are pairing up and creating flashcards where they must define the words, as well as express them using graphics. Some students are enjoying this, while others are struggling but hopefully becoming more familiar with the terminology and understanding of these devices.
- While I really enjoy this activity, I think that I need a better timeline completed for the student that breaks down the project into smaller steps and guides them in showing what part needs to be completed when...that way, students will be more likely to stay on task and get what needs to be done without any time being wasted.
- While out for Professional Development, I had students working on their reading comprehension skills, as well as practice problems using their literary terms that they've been working with.
