Students will explore four characteristics of a creation myth. Using this knowledge, students will learn about the culture of Iroquois Indians. They will make inferences about Iroquois social customs and analyze how the author uses symbolism to reveal other cultural values. Students will learn how to summarize text by writing several summary notes. Finally, they will compare the biblical account of creation with the Iroquois' interpretation and articulate the accuracy of each account.
