Objective:

Reading a range of informational text prepares students to apply a range of strategies to comprehend, interpret, evaluate, and appreciate various texts. In this unit, students will explore ways authors use text features to convey meaning. At the end of the unit, students will be able to discuss how different text features support reading comprehension, while demonstrating their ability to use text features to skim and scan nonfiction text.
