Objective:

To have the student demonstrate the ability to apply what they have learned about persuasive writing by creating a brochure. We, as a class, will discuss the various items a brochure should have. Later, in groups, they will be given data in the form of handouts in which they will be required to extract the data and create a brochure.

Materials:

Laptop, projector, PowerPoint, one piece construction paper per group, crayons/colored pencils, manipulatives (small models of the leaning tower of pisa, the coliseum, the eiffel tower, the arc de triomphe, big ben, stonehenge, empire state building, statue of liberty, the pyramids, the sphinx - purchased from A.C. Moore).
