Introduction: Raising a happy child means more than just providing food and diapers. The primary , or main, caregivers are usually the parents. This means that they have the main responsibility for raising the children . Since taking care of children is such a big job, parents often need the help of others. In this chapter you will become familiar with parenting skills such as , meeting children's basic needs, keeping children safe , dealing with emergencies, and choosing child care services.
